Attendance & Makeup Work Policy
Recording of Attendance
Instructors shall take attendance for all classes. Instructors shall record whether each student was present, tardy, or absent based on the definitions outlined in school policy.
Attendance & Course Completion
Any student who is absent from 2 or more classes of any course shall not be awarded credit for the course unless equivalent makeup work is completed. Makeup work may only offset up to 2 missed classes in a single course. This policy shall not apply to internship courses in which a specific number of hours are required to complete the course.
Makeup Work
The student may request makeup work from the course instructor to offset an absence. If the student completes the makeup work and the quality of the work is deemed acceptable by the course instructor, the absence shall not be considered when calculating course completion. Unless otherwise approved by the Program Director, makeup work may only offset up to 2 missed classes in a single course. The makeup work assigned by the instructor shall be no less rigorous than the class work missed.
For attendance definition, including excused/unexcused definition, see & Academic Definitions.
